The Tigers started the second half of the regular season with a 3-0 win over the visiting Memorial Sea-Hawks Friday night at Dalplex.

The Tigers led by as many as seven points before hitting the technical time out ahead 16-12 in the first set. From that point on, Dalhousie controlled the pace, building momentum and the lead to take the first set 25-16. Victoria Haworth (Waverley, N.S.) paced the Tigers with four kills.

Memorial came back swinging in the second set and led 16-11 at the technical timeout thanks to tough serving from Alyssa Warford (Corner Brook, N.L.). The Tigers were down, but not out and battled back to take the second set 25-23 and a two-set lead heading into what would be the third and final set.

Dalhousie again led by seven points early in in the third and found themselves up 16-12 at the technical timeout in the third, just like the first set. Unlike the first set, Memorial continued to battle and capitalized on unforced Tiger errors, but it wasn't enough as Dal took the set 25-21.

Haworth had five kills, nine digs, and three service aces for the Tigers and earned Subway Player of the Game honours. Julie Moore (Halifax, N.S.) added a team-high seven kills and 12 digs.

Kaitlyn Kuchinka (Edmonton, Alta.) was named the player of the game for Memorial with six kills and 10 digs, while Warford added a team-high seven kills, nine digs and two aces.

With the win, the U SPORTS No. 3 ranked Tigers improve to 9-0 in regular season play, while Memorial falls to 0-10.

Both teams will face off against each other tomorrow night at 7:00pm at Dalplex and again on Sunday afternoon at 1:00pm
