Dalhousie Tigers earn their third victory of the year at the DAL/SMU Invitational

It was a beautiful day at Point Pleasant Park for the Dalhousie/Saint Mary's Invitational cross-country event today.

The women got things going at 12:00pm, and very quickly the trio of StFX runner Melissa Hardy and Dalhousie Tigers Ellen Chappell and Anna Von Maltzahn separated themselves from the rest of the pack and never relinquished their lead. Hardy finished first with a time of 21:59.06, while Chappell and Von Maltzahn finished second and third with time of 22:12.51 and 22:40.82 respectively.

A roar came over the crowd as three Dalhousie runners, Brittany MacArthur, Natalie Sachrajda and Emily Clarke finished within six seconds of each other as they finished fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.

Lynette Manuel from StFX, Emily Ferguson from Dalhousie, Sarah Myatt from UNB and Alexa Zarins from StFX rounded out the top ten.

The Dalhousie Tigers women's team captured their third victory of the season, finishing first with 20 points. StFX came second with 45 points, and the University of New Brunswick grabbed third place with 91 points.
