Tigers win Acadia Invitational

The Dalhousie Tigers won both the women's and men's team titles at the Acadia Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Wolfville.

The women kicked the day off with an 8Km race through the rolling hills of the apple orchard at Hennigar's Farm. Danielle Keefe (Fredericton, NB) was the first Tiger to cross the line, crossing in second place with a time of 32.03. Scoring next for the Tigers was Maisyn Battams (Tottenham, ON) in fourth, Waverley Mulligan in sixth with times of 32.30 and 32.37 respectively. Renata Kingston (Ottawa, ON) crossed the line in 10th, followed by Mackenzie Kitchen (Ottawa, ON) in 14th, Eva Kriebel (Vancouver, BC) in 15 and Juliet Pulfrey (North Vancouver, BC) in 17th to round out the scoring for the Tigers.

Dalhousie finished first in the women's team standings followed by STFX in second, and hosts Acadia in third.

Jacob Benoit (Windsor, NS) followed up his win at STFX in the season opening race by leading the men at the Acadia Invitational. Benoit crossed the line in first with a time of 26.31. Fellow Tiger Aidan Goslett (Toronto, ON) was the next Dalhousie athlete to cross the line in third place, followed by Lukas Rudaitis (Mississauga, ON) in sixth and Nick Robertson (Charlottetown, PE) in eighth. Rounding out the scoring for the Tigers was Isaac MacLean (Moncton, NB) in 11th, Alex Rogers (Charlottetown, PE) in 18th and Maksym Pokotylets (Polonne, UKR) in 22nd.

The Tigers took home the men's team title followed by STFX in second and Memorial in third.

The next meet for the Tigers is the UNB Invitational on October 7 and is the last warm-up before the AUS championship on October 28.
