Tigers outlast Aigles Bleues
The Tigers beat the Aigles Bleues 3-2 on Saturday.
The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues battled it out, but at the final whistle, it was the Dalhousie University Tigers who came out on top 3-2 in an Atlantic University Sport women's volleyball match on Saturday afternoon at the CEPS Louis-J.-Robichaud on the Moncton campus in front of an enthusiastic crowd.
The hard-fought game tested the players' conditioning with high and close scores. The Aigles Bleues lost 25-17, 23-25, 27-25, 19-25 and 10-15. It took the 5th set to determine the winning team.
Tigers player of the game Talia Vydykhan led the way offensively with 20 kills and Paris Stewart had 11. Annik Boldon and Alessandra Nadalini stood out defensively with 32 and 26 digs each. For the blue and gold, player of the match Anne Paquette had 25 digs, and 11 kills and Jasmine Allain registered 28 digs. Evette Petherick also has 11 kills.
The Saint-Mary's University Huskies visit the Aigles Bleues on Friday at 7 p.m. at the CEPS Louis-J.-Robichaud gymnasium. The Tigers will be in St. John's, N.L., to take on the Memorial University Sea-Hawks on Friday and Saturday.
