Vincett commits to Tigers for 2022-23 season

Dalhousie Tigers women’s volleyball head coach Rick Scott is pleased to announce the commitment of Madeleine Vincett for the 2022-23 season.

Hailing from Calgary, Alberta, Vincett currently plays for the Dinos Women’s Volleyball Club U18 team. The 6’4 middle and her Dinos teammates placed fifth at Volleyball Alberta’s provincial tournament this past season. They went on to finish in fifth at the Volleyball Canada national championship this past weekend. She also plies her trade with William Aberhart High School’s senior girls volleyball team. In the 2021-22 season, they were city champions and finished third at provincials.

A member of the Team Alberta U17 training camp in August 2021, Vincett also represented her province at the U15 Canada Cup in 2019.

“Dalhousie has a unique recreation therapy program, which drew me to the university,” says Vincett. “Not only will I get a degree in an area that I am passionate about, but I will also be able to play the sport that I love in a competitive environment. I am excited to be a part of this committed group of female athletes and I look forward to contributing to the success of the women’s volleyball program. Go Tigers!”

Vincett will be studying recreation therapy at Dalhousie.

“We are thrilled to have Maddy join our Dal Tigers women’s volleyball program,” says Scott. “Maddy is a very physical athlete and will be a force at the net with her blocking and attacking. A committed and hard-working athlete, she is extremely coachable which has allowed her to really develop and improve this past year. She is a great teammate that will bring a real positive and enthusiastic energy to our group. We believe with continued hard work and development, Maddy has a chance to be a key part of our program in the years ahead.”

The Tigers will return to the court on October 28 looking to claim their tenth AUS title in a row.
