Tigers add Boldon for 2021-22 season

Dalhousie Tigers women’s volleyball head coach Rick Scott is pleased to announce the commitment of Annik Boldon for the 2021-22 season.

A native of Fredericton, N.B., Boldon has played for the Reds Volleyball Club for the last three seasons and most recently helped the 18U team to a Volleyball New Brunswick (VNB) provincial championship win at the end of the 2019 season. An outside hitter, Boldon was named the championship MVP while leading her team to victory.

Boldon also plays for the École Sainte-Anne varsity girl’s volleyball team who were the New Brunswick Interscholastic Athletic Association (NBIAA) provincial silver medallists in 2017-18 and gold medallists in 2018-19.

Named to Team New Brunswick three times, Boldon represented her home province most recently at Volleyball Canada’s 2019 Canada Cup where she was team captain.

“I am very excited to be a part of such a strong program and culture,” says Boldon. “I am confident about my decision, as I know that Coach Scott and the Tigers are looking to win a national championship.”

Boldon will be suiting up along side sister Brett who is currently in her first season with the Tigers.

She will be studying commerce while attending Dalhousie.

“We are thrilled to add Annik to our volleyball program,” says Scott. “She is one of Atlantic Canada’s top outside hitters from this year’s graduating class. She is a great competitor and has the special ability to raise her game in the big moments and high-pressure situations. Annik is a person of tremendous character and comes from a wonderful volleyball family. I believe with continued hard work and dedication, she has the ability to be a key contributor to our team in the years ahead.”

The COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of the 2020-21 season for the eight-time AUS championship women’s volleyball team.
