The Tigers earned their second 3-0 win over the Memorial Sea-Hawks Saturday night at Dalplex.

The Tigers led by as many as eight points before hitting the technical time out ahead 16-10 in the first set. They controlled the pace of play for the remainder of the set and staved off a last minute push from the Sea-Hawks to take the set 25-20.

It was a see-saw battle to start the second set until some strong serving from Victoria Haworth (Waverley, N.S.) gave the Tigers some momentum to pull away from the Sea-Hawks to lead 16-10 at the technical time out. Dal never looked back and easily took the second set 25-17.

Dalhousie was again the first to 16 with a six-point lead and were on pace to cruise to an easy victory until Memorial won a string of points on some strong serving by Amber Vardy (Clarenville, N.L.) to close the gap. It would be enough though as the Tigers re-grouped and took the third and final set 25-18.

Hannah Aldcorn (Calgary, Alta.) earned Subway Player of the Game honours with four kills, three blocks and a dig. Julie Moore (Halifax, N.S.) had a match-high 11 kills and 20 digs while Haworth had four kills, and six service aces.

Katie Wagar (Halifax, N.S.) was named the player of the game for Memorial with a match-high 23 digs, while Alyssa Warford added a team-high seven kills and five digs.

With the win, the U SPORTS No. 3 ranked Tigers improve to 10-0 in regular season play, while Memorial falls to 0-11.

Both teams will face off against each other tomorrow afternoon at 1:00pm at Dalplex.
