(St. John's, NL) – The Memorial Sea-Hawks lost the first match of the weekend to the Dalhousie Tigers by a score of 3-0 (25-12, 25-14, 25-13).

The Tigers jumped out to an early 16-6 lead on the Sea-Hawks in the opening set and showed why they are the once again the top team in the AUS. Julie Moore was a standout for the Tigers all night, leading the way with 11 kills, 6 aces, and 8 digs.

Victoria Haworth also gave Memorial everything they could handle, finishing the game with 9 kills and a game-high 6 aces. Haworth's strong performance would earn her Subway Player of the Game honours.

Although the Tigers controlled much of the play, Memorial did have moments when they gave the top ranked Tigers all they could handle. Claire Whiffen had a breakout game for the home side, collecting a team high 7 kills, while finishing with 7.5 points on the night.

Memorial will look to improve on tonight's performance tomorrow evening when the teams battle again. Game time is set for 7:00pm NST at The Field House. It will also be available on AUStv.ca.
