Tigers add Hannah Aldcorn to volleyball lineup

(Halifax, N.S.) - Women’s volleyball head coach Rick Scott is pleased to announce the commitment of Hannah Aldcorn to the Tigers 2016-17 roster.

A native of Calgary, A.B., Aldcorn comes to the Tigers after four seasons with the Canuck Stuff Volleyball Club. She helped lead them to top-four provincial championship placings all four seasons and to a 12thplace finish at the national championships this past year.

A 6’1 middle blocker, Aldcorn also played three seasons with the William Aberhart High School team, leading them to three consecutive city championships and titles at the last two Alberta Schools’ Athletic Association (ASAA) provincial championships. She’ll be reuniting with former Aberhart teammate, Lauren Koskowich, who just finished her first season with the Tigers.

“I’m so excited to have the chance to continue playing competitive volleyball at Dal,” says Aldcorn. “I’m really looking forward to seeing a whole new side of the country and to start playing at the collegiate level.”

An honours student the last three years, Aldcorn will be pursuing a degree in Dalhousie’s faculty of arts and social sciences.

“We are very excited Hannah has chosen Dalhousie University and our women’s volleyball program,” says Scott. “At 6’1, she brings good size and athleticism to our team and will be a force to be reckoned with at the net. Hannah comes from a very successful high school program at William Aberhart in Calgary and is a proven winner.  She is highly motivated to be successful and we believe that she will be an important part of our program in the years to come.”

The Tigers won their fourth consecutive AUS championship this past year and will be looking to continue their dominance in the upcoming season.
