Tigers continue undefeated streak defeating Axewomen 3-0

(HALIFAX N.S.) - The Dalhousie Tigers recorded their seventh consecutive win after they defeated the Acadia Axewomen on Friday November 11 by a score of 3-0. With this win, the Tigers continue their undefeated 2016-17 season with a perfect 7-0 record. The Acadia Axewomen now have a record of six losses and two wins on the season.

Tigers player Abby Czenze (Halifax, NS) had an incredible five point serving run early in the match which gave the squad a comfortable 12-5 lead. During this serving run, Czenze displayed a hot hand as three of the five serves she made were recorded as aces.

The Axewomen had a tough time controlling their own serves as they gave up several easy points to the Tigers on serving errors.

At the technical time out in the first quarter, the Tigers led the Axewomen by a score of 16-7.

The Axewomen went on a four-point run near the end of the first set, but Dalhousie had a large enough lead that allowed them close it out by a score of 25-12.

The Tigers came out solid again in the second set and took another early lead with an impressive seven-point scoring run by Lauren Koskowich (Calgary, AB).

The streak came to an end when Axewomen player Lauryn Renzella had a terrific tip and found a hole in between the Tigers defense.

The second set technical timeout score mirrored the first set, 16-7.

Acadia came out after the timeout with an authoritative kill by Renzella but the squad could only rally to record eight more points and would lose the set to the Tigers by a score of 25-16.
