Tigers top Aigles Bleues 4-0

The Dalhousie University Tigers scored two quick goals twice on Saturday to blank the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues 4-0 in an Atlantic University Sport women's soccer game Stade Croix Bleue Medavie Stadium on the Moncton campus.

Tigers player of the game Elise Evans (Toronto, ON) scored her first goal in the 30th minute. Olivia Jack (Stillwater Lake, NS) followed two minutes later for a 2-0 lead. Kaitlyn Clarke (Edmonton, AB) and Sally Steinberg (Hamilton, ON) then scored four minutes apart in the second half to round out the scoring.

Dalhousie led the way with 14 shots on goal and held Moncton off from recording any shots on goal. Emily Toth (Markham, ON) recorded the shutout with little action infront of her net. Adèle Melançon-Caillé was busy in net for the Aigles Bleues with 9 saves, many of which were quite difficult.

The Aigles Bleues started the game well on offense, but the Tigers rallied to control the game most of the time after that.

Moncton will host the St. Francis Xavier University X-Women on Saturday, October 21. Acadia visits the Tigers on Sunday, October 15.
