Evans commits to Tigers for 2022-23

Dalhousie Tigers women’s soccer head coach Cindy Tye is pleased to announce the commitment of Elise Evans for the 2022-23 season.

Evans hails from Toronto, Ontario and has been playing for Dixie Soccer Club since 2016.

She was the league’s top scorer in 2019, netting 24 goals in 18 games to help lead her team to a Golden Horseshoe League championship win. Evans led them to an Ontario Cup win this past summer, scoring the game-winning goal in the championship game.

The striker was a member of the Father John Redmond Catholic Secondary School varsity soccer team where she took home team MVP and Academic High Honors each year of high school.

“I am beyond excited to continue my education at Dalhousie and play for the Tigers,” says Evans. “I can’t wait to be part of such an amazing team, learn from a great coaching staff, and meet all my teammates!”

Evans has been accepted into the Bachelor of Arts and Social Sciences program at Dalhousie.

“Elise is an exciting attacking player,” says Tye. “She has good size, pace and solid one-on-one skills. She is a proven finisher with her club team and will be a dynamic part of our front three. A solid student, we look forward for watching Elise grow on and off the field.”

The Tigers finished the 2021 regular season in sixth place with a 4-3-5 record, earning the final berth of the 2021 Subway AUS Women’s Soccer Championship. They lost to the Acadia Axewomen in the quarter-final round.
