Blain hat trick paces Capers to 5-0 win

The goals keep coming for Karolyne Blain and the Cape Breton University Capers women's soccer team.

Blain, the 2013 AUS Most Valuable Player and conference scoring champion, notched her second consecutive hat trick Saturday to pace the Capers to a 5-0 victory over the visiting Dalhousie Tigers at the Cape Breton Health Recreation Complex on the CBU campus.

Blain opened the scoring just four minutes into the contest and added her second in the 29th minute as CBU took a 4-0 first half lead.

The fourth-year striker from Sudbury, ON wrapped up the scoring with the game's final marker in the 63rd minute.

Blain leads the AUS in scoring again this season with nine goals in just four games.

Chelsea Currie had the other two Capers goals, scoring twice in a three-minute span in the 22nd and 25th minute.

Currie, the 2012 AUS Rookie of the Year, has sits in a tie for third in AUS scoring with three goals on the year.

CBU, 3-1-0, has a league best 17 goals so far this season.

Tiffany O'Donnell made six saves for her first shutout of the year.
