Eustace scores two in Tigers win

Fredericton, NB - Dalhousie Tigers triumph 3-2 as Olivia Eustace nets two at Grant Harvey Centre against the Tommies.

"A bit of a rough start for sure, but I'm sure we will get going as it's just the beginning of the semester," said Nadia Lavoie.

The Tommies got on the board first with a power play goal by Nadia Lavoie at 4:22.

In the second period, Dalhousie responded at 12:52, with Brooklyn Paisley finding the net in a PP, assisted by Olivia Eustace and Gabrielle Noordijk, tying the game 1-1.

The third period started with a quick strike from the Tigers as forward Olivia Eustace scored unassisted just 20 seconds in, taking the lead 2-1. STU answered back on a PP, with Lavoie netting her second of the night, leveling the score at 2-2.

However, Dalhousie remained persistent, and at 14:32, Eustace scored her second goal, securing the 3-2 win for the Tigers. With her two goals tonight, Eustace jumps into the Dalhousie top ten for single season goals and into a three-way tie for sixth in the ranking. She is also tied for first in the AUS this season.

Three stars were awarded to Olivia Eustace (Dalhousie) and Nadia Lavoie (STU).

"Next game, we have to go hard, we have a strong team, we need the win, I know we can do it" Lavoie commented after the game.

Dal Tigers will play again tomorrow as they face UPEI at 3 pm; while the Tommies will visit UNB Friday, January 12.
