(SACKVILLE, NB) The Mounties women's hockey team continued to look for their first win of the season on Friday night as they hosted the Dalhousie Tigers at the Tantramar Veterans Memorial Civic Centre.

The visitors struck first as Emma Silvernagle (Stockholm, SK) found the back of the net off a shot from the blue line to put Dalhousie up 1-0. Regan Duffy (Burlington, ON) would double the Tiger lead later in the period on the power-play. A power-play opportunity for the Mounties created chances, but the 2-0 score line would remain at the end of the first period.

Despite starting the period on a 5-on-3 advantage, the Mounties could not capitalize, and it was Olivia Eustace (Riverview, NB) who extended the lead for Dalhousie shortly after the penalties were killed to make the score 3-0. Midway through the period the Mounties cut into the deficit as Dallis Mackenzie (Trenton, ON) put a rebound in the back of the net to cut the Tiger lead to 2. Mackenzie was not done there however as just 3 minutes later her shot took a deflection and found the back of the net with 7 minutes left in the 2nd period to make the score 3-2.

Trailing by a goal, the Mounties were dealt a blow just 23 seconds into the third period as Olivia Eustace scored her second of the night to restore the visitors' two-goal advantage. The Mounties found life again in the final minute as Hailey Simoneau (Milton, ON) made the score 4-3 on the power-play with a 6-on-4 advantage as the goaltender went to the bench. That is as close as Mount Allison would come however as the Mounties dropped a heartbreaker by a score of 4-3. Olivia Eustace was awarded AUS Player of the Game honours for her 2-goal performance.

Dalhousie (4-5) take the ice again tomorrow night, November 4th in Halifax against the Saint Mary's Huskies. Mount Allison (0-8) are also back on the ice tomorrow as they get set to play host to the St. Thomas Tommies. Both puck drops are scheduled for 7:00pm.
