Tigers add two more to 2020-21 recruitment class

The Dalhousie Tigers are pleased to announce the commitment of Emma Bishop and Olivia Eustace to the women’s hockey team for the 2020-21 season.

A native of Dieppe, N.B., Bishop played the 2019-20 season with the Station Six Fire of the Nova Scotia Female Midget AAA Hockey League (NSFMHL). A forward, she led her team with 31 points in 24 games this past season, helping them to the championship final before the season was cut short due to COVID-19. Her performance earned her a NSFMHL first team all-star nod.

Prior to this season, Bishop played for Newbridge Academy of the Junior Women’s Hockey League, earning two back-to-back team MVP honours. She also represented New Brunswick at the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, Alta.

A two-year member of the honour roll at Newbridge Academy, Bishop will be studying science at Dalhousie.

“I am nervous and excited to start a new year at Dalhousie and becoming part of the Tigers family,” says Bishop.

Joining Bishop at Dalhousie is fellow 2019 Canada Winter Games teammate, Olivia Eustace. A native of Riverview, N.B., Eustace recently completed her second year as a member of the Rothesay Netherwood School hockey team. The 2019-20 team captain and forward led her team with 15 goals and 25 points in their 41 games played, helping them to a second-place finish in the North American Prep Hockey Association (NAPHA) league.

Named to the Nova Scotia Female Midget Hockey League Rookie All-Star team for the 2017-18 season while playing for the Moncton Midget AAA Rockets, Eustace was also named assistant captain for Team New Brunswick at the 2019 Canada Winter Games.

“I am extremely excited to be able to further my studies at Dalhousie University and to continue playing hockey at a high level with the Tigers,” says Eustace.

Awarded the 2018-19 Proficiency with Distinction Award for an average over 90%, Eustace will be studying science at Dalhousie.

The Tigers finished the 2019-20 AUS regular season in seventh, just missing the playoffs.
