Boyden and Stitt commit to Tigers for 2020-21 season

The Dalhousie Tigers are pleased to announce the commitment of Charlotte Boyden and Jayden Stitt for the 2020-21 season.

Boyden, a native of Toronto, Ont., played this past season with the North York Storm Intermediate AA team after two years with their Midget AA team. A soon to be graduate of the Bishop Strachan School, Boyden was named their varsity hockey team’s MVP this past season and took home the 2018-19 Athletic Award and Athlete of the Year honours.

A three-year member of the Head’s List at Bishop Strachan School, Boyden will be working towards a Bachelor of Arts at Dalhousie.

“I’m looking forward to continuing my education and hockey career,” says Boyden. “I am excited to meet the team and be a Tiger!”

A native of Kanata, Ont., Stitt recently completed her second season with the Ottawa Lady Sens of the Provincial Women’s Hockey League. In her 56 games this year, the defencewoman scored three goals and added 20 assists. The Lady Sens finished the season with a record of 22-13 and were in the semifinals of the playoffs before the season ended due to COVID-19.

Named the All Saints Catholic High School hockey team MVP at the end of the 2018-19 season, Stitt has also earned a spot on the school honour roll in her final two years of high school.

“I am very excited to be a part of the Dalhousie community,” says Stitt. “I am extremely honoured to represent the Tigers!”

The Tigers finished the 2019-20 season with a record of 6-20, just shy of an AUS playoff spot.
