MONCTON -- Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (8-8-1=17pts, 6th position) scored three goals in the final period to register an important 5-2 win over Dalhousie University Tigers(4-12-2=10pts, 7th position),  Friday evening at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena, in an Atlantic University Sport women's hockey game. 

Katherine Dubuc led the Blue and Gold team scoring with two goals while the others came from the sticks of Katryne Villeneuve, Maëlle Rioux and Gabrielle Saulnier, the last one in an open net at the end of the game. Tara Morning, on the power play and Danika Phillips had given the visitors a 2-1 edge in the first period. Audrey Berthiaume registered 23 saves in the win while Fabiana Petricca made 28 for the loss. Dalhousie was 1 for 3 on the power play and Moncton, 0 for 3. Moncton is now seven points ahead of the Tigers in the standings. 

"This is a very good start to the second semester, it was a complete effort from beginning to end," stated Moncton coach Marc-André Côté"I have to give the credit to the players who followed the game plan and also believed in the process. This gives results. Sunday, we know the X-Women are fast and they will be a big challenge. We are up for it."

Moncton travels to Antigonish on Sunday afternoon to meet the St. Francis Xavier X-Women (11-3-1=25pts, 2e position), at 2p.m.
