The UPEI Panthers topped the Dalhousie Tigers 3-2 Saturday night at MacLauchlan Arena.

Faith Steeves provided the game winning goal at the 6:04 mark in the second period. The goal came on the power-play with the helpers coming from Madison Clarke and Sydnee Baker. It was Steeves first goal since October 28th, which coincidentally was the Panthers last win before their six game slump.

The first twenty minutes saw a combined three goals from the two teams. Emma Martin started the scoring with an unassisted marker. Martin would get herself back on the score sheet with an assist on Leah Bryne's goal at 14:34.

The two goal Panther lead wouldn't last long. A minute later Keana Oshowy scored for the Tigers at 15:45 to cut the lead to one. Lisa MacLean had the second tally for the Tigers at the end of the second period, with Danika Phillips and Tara Morning picking up the assists.

Megan Sullivan had a busy night turning aside 35 shots including 12 in the opening frame. At the opposite end of the ice, Fabiana Petricca had a busy night facing 38 shots and making 35 saves.

The Panthers improve to 3-6-4 and pull ahead of the Mount Allison Mounties for 6th place. Dalhouside falls to 8-6-0, and currently hold the fourth place in AUS.

UPEI will travel to Fredericton to face the St.Thomas Tommies for a Sunday matinee tomorrow. The game will be the Panthers finals game until after the Christmas break.
