The Dalhousie Tigers defeated the Mount Allison Mounties 4-1 at the Tantramar Veterans Memorial Civic Centre on Sunday to spoil the Mounties AUS women's hockey home opener.

The Tigers struck quick as Corinne Desjardins gave the visitors a 1-0 lead just 2:05 into the first period. Abigail Shearer and Bianca Canade picked up assists on the goal.

The Mounties responded on the power play seven minutes later when Jessica Desautels picked up her first of the season with help from Victoria MacDonald and Mounties captain Heather Richards.

Dalhousie would grab a lead for the 2nd time when Tara Morning scored at 13:37 of the first period.  The Tigers would hold this lead until the 3rd period as neither side scored during the 2nd.

Dalhousie opened their lead early in the 3rd period, scoring just 50 seconds in with Annika Rose picked up an unassisted goal. The Mounties would push to get closer but when Lisa MacLean scored at 19:06, the Tigers would walk away with the 4-1 win.
