(Halifax, N.S.) – Two Marie-Pier Corriveau (Magog, QC) goals helped propel the visiting Moncton Aigles Bleues to a 5-0 win over the Dalhousie Tigers on Sunday afternoon at the Halifax Forum.

Corriveau scored the eventual game-winner at 15:55 of the opening period, and added an insurance marker at 13:55 of the second.

Karine Roy (Nigadoo, NB) Brittany Poitras (Saint-André, NB) and Dominique Bérubé (Trois Pistoles, QC) also scored for Moncton.

Forward Tara Morning (Aurora, ON) was Dalhousie's more proficient offensive threat, finishing with five shots on net.

The Tigers started strong, outshooting the Aigles Bleues 6-1 in the opening 12 minutes of play, but were unable to beat goaltender Gabrielle Forget (Joliette, QC).

Moncton responded shortly after, with Corriveau scoring the only goal of the first frame to give the visitors the lead.

Dalhousie's offence came out hungry in the second period – landing 12 shots on net including 10 through the first 13 minutes – but were once again stymied by Forget.

Moncton had just five shots in the period, but they made their opportunities count, scoring twice. Corriveau would add her second goal of the contest with just over six minutes to play, and Roy would increase the Aigles Bleues lead to three at 18:57.

Poitras and Bérubé would put the game to bed in the final frame, scoring at 10:27 and 12:46, respectively.

The Tigers managed another eight shots on net in the third period, but couldn't beat Forget, who finished with 28 saves.

With the win, Moncton improved their record to 4-4-2, while Dalhousie fell to 2-7-1. Dalhousie's next contest goes on Wednesday as they host StFX, while the Aigles Bleues next game goes on Saturday on the road against St.Thomas.
