Tigers fall 5-1 to UdeM

(Halifax, NS) On Sunday night at the Halifax Forum the Moncton Aigles Bleus took down the Dalhousie Tigers 5-1 in AUS women's hockey action. The Tigers were badly out shot 41-21 by UdeM.

Moncton scored back-to-back power play goals just 36 seconds apart in the first period putting them up 2-0 early in the game. Katherine Dubuc netted the first marker while Kaitlyn Gallaway netted the second.

The Tigers were outshot 11-5 in the opening frame.

UdeM continued to find success with their special teams scoring their third power play goal in as many tries. Katryne Villeneuve found the back of the net at the half way mark of the second period.

Katherine Dubuc continued her strong play netting her second of the night and extending the Moncton lead to 4-0 just three minutes after the Villeneuve tally. Brittany Poitras received credit for the assist.

Things continued to get worse for the Tigers as Amelie Dion scored the fifth goal of the night for UdeM in the third period. Marie-Pier Arsenault recorded her second assist of the night on the goal.

Elizabeth MacArthur managed to spoil Gabrielle Forget's shutout in the final minutes of the game with a wrist shot top corner.

Both teams have wrapped up their AUS regular season play and will look forward to playoffs.
