DAL falls 6-1 to UdeM in second regular season game

On Sunday, October 18th, Dalhousie women's hockey travelled to the J. Louis-Levesque arena at the Université de Moncton to compete in their second regular season game. With 127 fans in attendance, the Aigles Bleues came away with a strong 6-1 win over the Tigers.

Dalhousie had more than twice as many shots on net as Moncton in the first period of the game, but was unable to finish any goals against Moncton's goalie, Gabrielle Forget, who managed to block all 10 shots from the Tigers that came at her in the first 20 minutes of the game.

The second period was when the Aigles Bleues began their success. Only 41 seconds into the period, Moncton's Katryne Villeneuve scored the first goal of the game from an assist made by Catherine Haché and Véronic Thibe. At the 6 minute mark, Katherine Dubuc scored Moncton's second goal from a power play and an assist by Cassandra Labrie and Villeneuve.

Only seconds later, Moncton's Kaitlyn Gallaway scored the third goal for the Aigles Bleues with an assist by Jennifer Arsenault and Amelie Dion. The final goal of the period was scored by Moncton's Cassandra Labrie from a power play.

The third and final period started much like the second with an early goal made by Moncton's Kaitlyn Gallaway at the one minute mark. Dalhousie's Marita Alferi (Gatineau, QC) scored Dalhousie's one and only goal of the game from an assist made by Victoria MacIntosh (Hammonds Plains, NS) during a power play.

Moncton's Jodie Dupéré finished the scoring for the game with a final goal at 17:36 which brought the Aigles Bleues to their 6-1 win over the Tigers.
