Aigles Bleues beat Tigers 3-1 in Saturday night hockey action

(MONCTON, N.B.) - Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (5-2-0) got their revenge with a 3-1 win over the Dalhousie University Tigers (3-4-0) in an Atlantic University Sport women's hockey game Saturday at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena of the Moncton campus.

Sunday, the Moncton team, travels to Halifax for a match-up with the Saint Mary's University Huskies (4-3-0=8pts, 3rd position), at 2p.m.

"We did score goals this game and we won. We also had a large edge in shots on goal," said Moncton coach Denis Ross. "We performed better as a team and we managed the stress better. The players were able to adjust better and the focus was on performance."

Marika Lacroix (from Roxanne Turcotte and Jodie Dupéré) and Cassandra Labrie (from Marie-Pier Arsenault), in the second stanza, and Marie-Pier Corriveau, in an open net at the end of the game, were the Moncton goal scorers.

Émilie Bouchard faced 21 shots and only allowed a goal to Victoria MacIntosh on the power play in the second. Jessica Severeyns had  33 shots at the other end of the ice.
