Dalhousie Tigers women’s basketball head coach Tanya McKay is pleased to announce the commitment of Samantha Manieri for the 2024-25 season.

Hailing from Toronto, Ontario, Manieri plays for the SBA Blues Juel Team. A team captain, she averages 8 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists per game. Previously she played for the SBA Blues Juel prep team.

“I am very excited to come to Dalhousie and to be a Tiger,” says Manieri. “I feel as if I am joining a team that has accepted me before I arrive. Building a connection with Tanya over the last year has made university in another province just that more exciting.”

A multi-year member of the Principal’s List at the York School, Manieri will be studying kinesiology at Dalhousie.

“We are tremendously excited to add such a high calibre student-athlete as Samantha to our program,” says McKay. “Samantha is a top notch athlete who will help our inside game with her length and competitiveness. She also brings great character and leadership potential along with her worth ethic. We are excited to see Samantha grow along the young pieces of our program over the next few years.”

The Tigers head to Cape Breton this weekend to battle the Capers.
