U SPORTS announced Wednesday the 14th edition of Shoot for the Cure will be held virtually for the 2020-21 season – taking place the Week of Feb. 1-7.
Organized since 2007 in collaboration with the U SPORTS Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Association, the fundraising initiative raises money for the Canadian Cancer Society – and other related local and provincial charities – to help fight breast cancer. This year's goal is to raise $44,000 nation-wide to bring our cumulative 14-year total to $15. Million.
Instead of our normal Shoot for the Cure game, the women's basketball team will be competing against each other in a mini skills night on Friday Feb. 5, 2021. A link to watch the event will be posted closer to the event.
Donations can be made online to the Tigers specific fundraising page. Last year the Tigers raised over $3,000 for the cause.
