CBU tops Tigers 65-58

The Cape Breton University Capers locked up third place overall in the AUS women's basketball standings with a 68-58 win over the Dalhousie Tigers Friday in Sydney.

The win improved the Capers to 13-6 overall with their final game scheduled for Saturday at 6 p.m. when they host the Saint Mary's Huskies.

Colleen Keane with 17 points and 10 rebounds and Alison Keough with 17 points and nine rebounds were top performers for the Capers.

Jalynn Skeir added 15 points and five assists for the winners while Valentina Primossi finished with a full stat line, which included 12 points, 10 rebounds and six assists.

Deidre Alexander and Megan Thompson had 13 points apiece for the Tigers.

The Tigers have completed the regular season and hope to grab the last plaoff spot next weekend at Scotiabank Centre.
