Basketball teams head south

Women’s Basketball

The Tigers headed to Maine this weekend for two games against UMaine-Fort Kent and Presque Isle. Courtney Thompson led the Tigers to 79-62 victory over UMFK with 27 points. Rebecca Nuttall and Robbi Daley each added 10 points while Tessa Stammberger and Nuttall each had six rebounds.

Sunday’s game was canceled due to injuries to the Presque Isle team, so the Tigers had a scrimmage with a local men’s team.

Men’s Basketball

The Tigers headed to Maine this weekend for two games against UMaine-Fort Kent and Presque Isle. Dal defeated UMFK 77-64 Saturday night and were led by Ritchie Kanza Mata who had 22 points, six assists, five steals and four rebounds. Sven Stammberger chipped in 12 points, while Kashrell Lawrence led the team with nine rebounds.

On Sunday, the Tigers defeated the UMaine-Presque Isle, 80-58. The Tigers were led by Kash Lawrence with 17 points and nine rebounds. Kanza Mata had 13 points and Devon Stedman and Stammberger each chipped in 10. The Tigers finish their exhibition schedule with six wins and three losses.

The regulars season begins November 7 for the Tigers when the host UPEI at Dalplex at 8:00pm.
