Alumnae honoured on Saturday night

The Tigers went 2-1 over the course of the Subway Centennial Women’s Basketball Tournament hosted at the Dalplex this weekend.

During the half of the Saturday night game, there was a special presentation honouring former Tigers who wore the number 10. Current number 10, Tessa Stammberger presented Leslie Duncan, Janice King and Anne Lindsay with a gift from Head Coach Anna Stammberger and her team.

Leslie Duncan was a two-time AUS second team all-star for the Tigers in the 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 seasons. Leslie just got married two weeks ago and lives in Halifax with her husband. She works for Destination Halifax in the Marketing department.

Janice King was a two-time AUS first team all-star for the Tigers in the 1999-2000 and 2000-2001 seasons. She lives with her 2 children and husband in Lower Sackville and is a Recreation Therapist at Sagewood Continuing Community Care

Anne Lindsay was a two-time AUS first team all-star for the Tigers earning the honours in the 1977-1978 and 1979-1980 seasons. Anne was also awarded the Dalhousie Class of ’55 Award in the 1979-1980 season which is given to the top female athlete at Dalhousie. Anne is living in Bedford and is Vice Principal at Hammonds Plains Consolidated School.
