Tigers add Thistle for 2024-25 season!

Dalhousie Tigers track & field head coach Rich Lehman is pleased to announce the commitment of Lauren Thistle for the 2024-25 season.

Hailing from Liverpool, Nova Scotia, Thistle is a multiple-time School Sport Nova Scotia medalist for Liverpool Regional High School. Specializing in shotput, she is the 2019 and 2022 gold medallist. Thistle has also won a silver medal at the 2022 Atlantic Championship, a gold medal at the 2023 Athletics Nova Scotia Provincial Championship and a bronze medal at the 2022 Canadian Legion National Youth Track and Field Championship for Team Nova Scotia.

“I’m excited to expand my knowledge about my sport and be a part of the Dalhousie team,” says Thistle.

Thistle will be studying recreation therapy at Dalhousie University.

“We’re very excited to add Lauren to our throws group next year,” says throws coach Kirk Jessome. “Winning a medal at a national championship with minimal access to coaching or facilities is very impressive. Lauren will be able to contribute to the team at the AUS level right away.”

The Tigers extended their women’s track and field conference title streak to 35 straight this year.
