2020-21 Men's Track & Field Season

2020-21 Men's Track & Field Season

From the Coach - Rich Lehman

The men’s track and field team committed to using this year to out-work and out-prepare the competition. The team worked hard to close the gap on the top teams in the country with a focus on  the 2022 U SPORTS Championships. The work and preparation paid off with many athletes posting personal bests in intrasquad competition in March.

Greatest Gains - For unwavering commitment to training with a laser focus on making positive gains.

Will Cox

Will had a very consistent cross country season but really took off towards the end of the track season. In our end of year time trials, he won both the 1500m and 3000m events with massive personal bests in both. His 1500m time ranks him 6th on the Tigers all-time list and his 3000m time ranks him 7th. Both times were faster than the winning times at last year’s AUS Championships and would have qualified for the U SPORTS Championships had they happened.

Tiger of the Year - For unwavering commitment to training and devotion to the growth of the team.

Lachlan Greechan

Lachlan was a tremendous leader for our sprints group. He worked very hard to keep the group energized and motivated as restrictions and regulations limited that group’s ability to train optimally. He improved all of his testing marks from last year and has established himself as a favourite in the 60m going into next year’s AUS Championship.
