13 first place finishes among both Tigers teams in season debut

The track and field teams had a successful competition this past Saturday November 19th at the Athletics NS Last Chance Meet held at the Canada Games Centre in Halifax, NS. The competition was the season debut for both 2016-17 men's and women's Tigers track and field teams. The women captured a total of five first place finishes and the men finished with eight.

Event winners included:

Women

Maya Reynolds (60m dash)

Heather Beaton (600m run)

Macayla Cullen (high jump)

Megan Beamish (18-19 long jump)

Kate Maclatchie (20-34 Long Jump)

Men

Matthew Coolen (60 m dash and hurdles)

Mike Van Der Poel (300m dash)

Kaelen Schmidt (18-19 high jump and long jump)

Devin Errington (20-34 high jump)

Stephen Belyea (20-34 long jump)

Jordan Bruce (triple jump)

The Tigers next competition will be in the new year on January 14 at the JumpStart Athletics open in Moncton, NB.
