Sparkes leads Tigers in day two of U SPORTS Championships
Logan Sparkes qualified for the finals in two events and led the Tigers relay to a 13th place finish on day two.
The Tigers had a busy day two in the pool at the U SPORTS Swimming Championships hosted by the University of Toronto.
In the 50m free preliminary races, Emma Carrier Clarke touched the wall in a time of 26.93 seconds to finish 40th overall and Mia Stein-Blumberg touched in 27.19 seconds to finish 46th overall.
In the men's race, Logan Sparkes touched the wall with a time of 23.02 second to qualify for the C final. Logan finished 22nd overall. Liam Ferguson secured a time of 23.75 seconds to finish 44th overall.
In the women's 400m free, Emma Carrier Clarke qualified for the C final and finished 23rd overall with a finals time of 4:24.44. Alexia Morgans touched with a time of 4:29.85 in the preliminary race to finish 28th overall.
Morgan Sparkes touched with a time of 3:57.59 to qualify for the C final where he finished 24th overall with a time of 3:58.62. Yannick Morgans finished in 30th place.
Quinn Nolan touched the wall in a time of 57.02 on the men's 100m backstroke to finish 30th overall.
Emilie Schofield recorded a time of 2:20.62 to qualify for the B final in the 200m IM. Kate Tuck touched with a time of 2:22.70 to qualify for the C final. Emilie touched the wall in a time of 2:19.27 for 11th overall. Kate touched in a time of 2:20.48 for 17th overall.
Logan Sparkes swam a fast 2:03.83 in the men's 200m IM in the prelims to qualify for the B final where he finished 16th overall.
Mia Stein-Blumberg finished 46th overall in the 50m butterfly. Quinn Nolan finished just outside of the evening finals for a 25th place finish. Liam Ferguson finished 51st overall.
The women's 800m free relay team of Emilie Schofield, Mia Stein-Blumberg, Kate Tuck and Emma Carrier Clarke touched the wall in a time of 8:25.28 to finish seventh overall.
In the men's 800m free relay, the team of Logan Sparkes, Morgan Sparkes, Quinn Nolan and Yannick Morgans touched the wall in a time of 7:39.21 to finish 13th.
The Tigers return to the pool on Saturday morning at 9:30am ET.
