Tigers men lead after day two of Kemp-Fry
Dalhousie women in second place behind Acadia.
The Acadia women and Dalhousie men lead after day two of the Kemp-Fry Invitational.
The evening started off with a bang in the women's 50m freestyle. Dalhousie's Emma Carrier Clarke won the race in a time of 26.48, just off the U SPORTS standard. Acadia's Cassidy Karrell and Sara Bennett finished in second and third respectively.
On the men's side Memorial's Chris Weeks touched the wall first followed by Niall Johnson of Dalhousie in second and Blake Kingston of UNB in third.
Tigers Emilie Schofield and Kate Tuck went 1-2 in the women's 400m IM. Acadia's Eadon McGrath touched in third place.
Dalhousie also went 1-2 in the men's 400m IM. Morgan Sparkes touched the wall first followed by Timothy McCowan in second. Third was Acadia's Alex Jonsen-Humble.
Mia Stein-Blumberg of Dalhousie won the women's 100m butterfly. Memorial's Heidi Perry and Acadia's Eadaoin McGrath finished second and third.
It was a 1-2 Sea-Hawks finish in the men's 100m butterfly. Weeks touched the wall first followed by Daniel Pearce in second. UNB's Maxime Kenny finished in third.
Dalhousie's Schofield beat out a pack of Acadia swimmers in the women's 200m backstroke to win the race. Her time of 2:14.28 was also a personal best and under the U SPORTS qualifying standard. Sophie Rooney and Grace Earle finished in second and third with Rooney's time also under the U SPORTS standard.
It was a Dalhousie sweep in the men's 200m backstroke with Liam Ferguson touching the wall first followed by Cole Mitchell and Morgan Sparkes.
Acadia's Ella Collins won the women's 100m breaststroke with a time of 1:10.72. Tuck touched the wall in second place followed by fellow Tiger Ava Mackenzie in third.
Reigning AUS champion in the men's 100m breaststroke was back on the podium in the event tonight. He touched the wall in a time of 1:03.0. Tigers Jake Gysel and Connor Maloney finished in second and third.
Carrier Clarke won her second race of the night in the 200m freestyle. Acadia's Cassidy Karrel and Dalhousie's Stein-Blumberg finished in second and third.
On the men's side Acadia's David Harvie won the 200m free followed by Dalhousie's Hasan Hosny and Noah Thomas.
Acadia's Rooney won the 50m backstroke followed by Earle and Leah Smal of UNB. Dalhousie's Ferguson won the men's race followed by fellow Tiger Quinn Nolan and UNB's Kenny.
Wrapping up the night was the women's 4x100m freestyle relay. The Tigers touched the wall first, under the U SPORTS standard, in a time of 3:49.95 to win. Acadia touched the wall second and Memorial in third.
The Tigers also won the men's 4x100m relay race followed by Acadia in second and Memorial in third.
The third and final day of action hits the water with preliminary races at 10am on Sunday followed by the finals at 4:30pm.
