Tigers move up the standings on Day 2 of U SPORTS

Tigers swimmers continued to have great results in day two of the 2023 U SPORTS Swimming Championships hosted by the University of Victoria.

Reagan Crowell kicked off the day posting a time of 2:01.98 in the 200m free to make the B final, in which she finished fourth in the race and twelfth overall.

Noah Mascoll-Gomes made the evening A final in the 200m free and swam to a seventh place finish.

Liam Ferguson posted a personal best of 25.93 in the 50m backstroke to make the C final. He then swam to a fourth-place finish in the race and 20th overall.

Three Tigers made the finals in the 400m IM. Allison McCloy led the way with a second best time in the morning to make the A final. She just missed out on a bronze medal finishing 28-hundreths of a second behind third. Kate Tuck posted a personal-best time in the preliminary race and finished sixth in the B final and 14th overall. Emilie Schofield made the C final and finished 24th overall.

Veronica Hollick touched the wall in a time of 27.77 in the 50m butterfly in the preliminary race to make the B final. She swam to a seventh place finish in the race and 15th overall.

The women's 800m freestyle relay team of Allison McCloy, Emilie Schofield, Kate Tuck and Reagan Crowell touched the wall in a time of 8:34.64 for fifth place.

The men's 800m freestyle relay team of Noah Mascoll-Gomes, Frederick Chandler-Baas, Liam Ferguson and Logan Sparkes posted a time of 7:53.84 for ninth place.

Both teams have moved up the standings after day two. The women's team sits in eighth spot and the men move up three spots to 13th.
