Tigers add Ferguson for 2021-22 season

Dalhousie Tigers swimming head coach Lance Cansdale is pleased to announce the commitment of Liam Ferguson for the 2021-22 season.

Hailing from Upper Tantallon, N.S., Ferguson swims for the Halifax Trojan Aquatic Club. The 2019-20 Swim Nova Scotia Male Swimmer of the Year, Ferguson finished first in the 200m IM, 50m, 100m and 200m backstrokes and the 50m butterfly at the 2020 Nova Scotia David Fry Provincial Championship. He was awarded the 16 & Over/OPEN High Point award at the championship for his efforts.

“I am thrilled to be attending Dalhousie and swimming with the Tigers this upcoming season,” says Ferguson.

A member of the high honour list at Sir John A. Macdonald High School in 2018-19 and the principal’s list in 2019-20, Ferguson will be studying science at Dalhousie.

“In my opinion, Liam is one of the best, all-round swimmers to come out of Atlantic Canada in a number of years,” says Cansdale. “His versatility, along with his attitude and performances will immediately add to the success of our men’s program.”

The COVID-19 pandemic cancelled the 2020-21 season for the swim team.
