(Halifax, NS) – In the second day of back to back games, the Dalhousie Tigers hosted the University of Winnipeg Wesmen. In a similar tale to the first match, the teams battled in the first and third set, but Winnipeg was able to walk away with the 3-0 win in this one.

Jasper Kristmanson (Fredericton, NB) was the start of a great early run for the Tigers, picking up back to back kills, and two blocks in the early stages of the first set.

On the other side, Daniel Thiessen (Winnipeg, MB) and Keegan Teetaert (Steinback, MB) were getting it done for the Wesmen as they climbed to a slight advantage at the technical break at 16-12.

The first play after the break was a fantastic rally with some great defensive plays by Kristmanson, and Sam Gaudet (Halifax, NS) of the Tigers, along with Ethan Duncan (Winnipeg, MB) on the other side.

The Wesmen pulled away in the set however, going on a 9-3 scoring run, and taking the first set 25-15.

The Wesmen jumped out quickly to a 10-3 lead in the second set thanks to some hard swinging by William Racano (Winnipeg, MB) and the service game of Teetaert.

The Wesmen pushed their lead to 10 as they went into the break up 16-6.

Thiessen and Racano continued to pick up kills for the Wesmen as they quickly took the second set 25-12.

The teams battled to start the third set, with Kobe Shannon (Halifax, NS) getting involved on the offense, and Garrett Jones (Winnipeg, MB) picking up a few huge blocks on the other side for the Wesmen.

The Tigers were getting some work out of some rookies in the third set, with Ethan Boyd (Summerside, PEI) picking up a few kills, and Blake McNeil (Halifax, NS) with a big block to pick up his first point as a Tiger.

The rookies continued to play well for the Tigers as they managed to take their first lead of the match and took it into the technical break up 16-14.

Racano continued help his team out on both sides of the ball as they battled back to a slight advantage in the set at 22-21, forcing a timeout from the Tigers.

Nigel Nielsen (St. Andrew's, MB) and Garrett Jones were able to spoil the run by the Tigers however, with Jones hammering home the final kill as the Wesmen took the set 25-22, and the 3-0 victory in the match.
