Tigers go undefeated at first interlock

The men's team had a great interlock event, going 3-0 as they only dropped one set all weekend. They started off on Friday against Montreal, winning three straight sets (25-18, 25-21, 25-21) in a truly balanced attack. Alex Dempsey, Matthew Donovan, Connor Maessen, Kristen O'Brien and Bryan Duquette all had at least seven kills for the Tigers.

In their first game on Saturday, the Tigers dropped the first set against Sherbrooke 28-26 before the momentum shifted and they put away the next three sets in authoritative fashion, allowing an average of just 13 points as they cruised to a 3-1 (26-28, 25-16, 25-8, 25-15) win.

They finished things off with a 3-0 (28-26, 25-19, 25-22) victory over Laval. After a thrilling first set, the Tigers willed their way to two more victories as they put the Rouge et Or away in straight sets. The win must have felt especially good for Dan Ota's squad, who were eliminated in their first game in last year's CIS championship at the hands of Laval.

The Tigers will begin their regular season when they face the UNB Varsity Reds on November 1 at 8:00pm.
