Tigers extend undefeated streak to seven with 3-0 victory

The Dalhousie Tigers remain undefeated on the season as they they defeated the Memorial Sea-Hawks for the second time in as many days Sunday afternoon at the Dalplex. The Tigers won the game in straight sets (25-19, 25-20, 27-25) and have only dropped two sets all season long.

Subway player of the game Bryan Duquette had a game-high 15 kills in the victory for the Tigers. Duquette now ranks second in the AUS with 71 kills on the season as he passes teammate Alex Dempsey.

Tied at 18 in the first set, the Tigers went on a 7-1 tear and Matthew Donovan ended the set with a thundering kill giving the Tigers a 25-17 victory. The Sea-Hawks got down early in the second set as the Tigers established a commanding 17-7 lead and they would hold on for the 25-20 win.

With their backs against the wall in the third set, Jordan Smith and Poris Petit came up with a huge block to tie the set at 24. After a kill by Bryan Duquette, the Tigers had a chance to put away the Sea-Hawks but Justin Lynch's serve went long. The Sea-hawks failed to capitalize on the opportunity and Liam Power's serve found the top of the net, and the Tigers went on to win the final set 27-25 to give themselves a 3-0 victory.

Libero Brad Jolliffe was named the Subway player of the game for the Sea-Hawks.

This was the last game for both teams before they head off to Montreal for the second AUS-RSEQ interlock event of the year. The Tigers will start their weekend with a game against Sherbrooke while the Sea-Hawks will face Laval. Both games will get underway at 6:00pm Friday evening. The Sea-Hawks went 0-3 in the last interlock event, while the Tigers went undefeated. dropping just one set.
