O'Brien leads Tigers to 3-1 victory over Sherbrooke

The Dalhousie Tigers showed that they will be a force to be reckoned with in the CIS this year as they defeated the Sherbrooke Vert et Or 3-1 (25-20, 20-25, 25-23, 25-15) Saturday night at the Dalplex.

The Tigers won the first set 25-20, and found themselves in the same situation as their game earlier today. Sherbrooke battled back to win the second set 25-20, and the game was even at one set apiece.

Dan Ota's squad composed themselves and showed what they will be capable this year. The Tigers rattled off two straight wins to take the game, winning the third and fourth sets (25-23, 25-15).

Kristen O'Brien continued on an incredibly strong weekend and led the Tigers with a game-high 18 kills. Bryan Duquette added 10 kills and 8 kills, while Alex Dempsey recorded 12 kills and 7 digs.

Daniel Moreau led the way for the Vert et Or with 16 kills and 8 digs. William Marier had 9 kills and 9 digs for Sherbrooke, who went 1-2 on the weekend, opening the weekend with a 3-0 win over Memorial, and losing to UNB earlier 3-0.

The Tigers will look to continue their winning ways when they take on Memorial next weekend in St. John's.
