Tigers defeat reigning CIS champion Laval 3-0

Kristen O'Brien led the way with 14 kills as the Dalhousie Tigers men's volleyball team defeated the Laval Rouge et Or 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-22) Friday night at the Dalplex.

The Tigers didn't fail to impress their fans in their home opener. Bryan Duquette and Connor Maessen came up huge on the defensive end and the Tigers relied on many strong serves and aces to power past the Rouge et Or.

The Tigers had the crowd on their feet in the third and final set, as Laval nearly mounted a comeback but Kristen O'Brien served up an ace that got past the entire Laval team to finish the game.

The Tigers are back in action tomorrow at 1:00pm against the Montreal Carabins and at 8:00pm when they take on the Sherbrooke Vert et Or to finish off the weekend of RSEQ-AUS interlock play.
