The Dalhousie Tigers clinched a fourth place finish in the AUS regular season with a 4-0 win over the UPEI Panthers on Saturday night in Halifax.
Dalhousie opened the scoring in the 37th minute when Isaac Geyer (Saskatoon, SK) sprung Mohammed Wahdan (Daraa, SY) free on a counterattack. Wahdan chipped a falling Isaac Wolters to put the Tigers up 1-0.
Just before half-time, Mykeo Parker-Christmas (Halifax, NS) scored his third goal of the season, tapping in Benjamin Hashimoto's (Charlottetown, PE) cross at the back post.
Kyle Routledge (Halifax, NS) made it 3-0 for the Tigers when Wolters deflected a shot right into his path.
Wahdan scored his second of the game, chipping Wolters in the 88th minute to secure the win for the Tigers.
Jack Ellis (Liverpool, ENG) was named the player of the game for the Tigers.
Tigers goalkeeper Emmett Workman (Halifax, NS) earned a shutout in his first start of the season, stopping three shots including a big save in the final minutes to maintain the clean sheet. He also had an assist on Wahdan's second goal.
The Tigers now face the fifth place Cape Breton Capers in their AUS quarter-final game on Thursday in Fredericton. The Panthers needed a win in their final game of the season to secure a playoff spot and with the loss are eliminated from contention.
