Tigers add McManus for the 2024/25 season

Dalhousie Tigers men’s soccer head coach Alan Jazic is pleased to announce the commitment of Kale McManus for the 2024-25 season.

Hailing from Yorkton, Saskatchewan, McManus is the captain of the soccer team at Centennial Collegiate and led his team to a Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association silver medal this past fall. Previously he attended Sacred Heart High School in Yorkton and won a provincial silver medal in 2022.

In October of 2022, he moved to Saskatoon to join the Whitecaps Academy (now called the Saskatchewan EXCEL High Performance Program).

“I am excited to be a Tiger to represent Dalhousie in the AUS,” says McManus. “I am looking forward to making an impact on and off the field, as well as achieving excellence in the classroom.”

Named the 2022 Male Athlete of the Year and Rookie of the Year at Centennial Collegiate, McManus is also a multi-year member of the honour roll.

“When researching Dalhousie, it fit both my athletic and academic wants, and I found Halifax to be a beautiful area with very welcoming and friendly people. I got along very well with the members of the team during my visit, and they made me instantly feel at home and wanting to play for the Dalhousie Tigers.”

McManus will be studying kinesiology at Dalhousie.

“I’m really excited to be welcoming Kale to our Tiger family,” says Jazic. “Kale comes to us with an incredibly high ceiling, and he’ll be a great addition to our team. He plays the game with great skill and composure. He is comfortable on the ball and a great passer coming out of the back. He’s positionally very sound and versatile along the back line. Kale will be a great addition to our program and I’m really looking forward to working with him over the next four to five years.”

The men’s soccer team went on a 5-0 run at the end of the 2023 season to sneak into the AUS playoffs before getting knocked out in the quarterfinals.
