(Halifax, NS) -The SMU Huskies and Dal Tigers played to a 1-1 draw Friday night in men's AUS soccer action.
SMU struck first in the 42nd minute when Ben Napier (Halifax, NS) crossed the ball into the box and found Eric Lavigne (Halifax, NS), who played the ball on a bounce and deposited it with his left boot into the net for a 1-0 halftime lead.
Dal answered back in the 58th minute when Hassan Alnuwaysir's (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia) one-touch flick pass found Freddy Bekkers (Halifax, NS) who beat SMU goalie Treaz Place (Pembroke, Bermuda) to draw even 1-1.
TJ Leopold (T, 3-0-7, Bedford, NS) made three saves for Dal while Place (0-0-1) had five for SMU.
Dal outshot SMU 12-6 and held a 5-0 corner-kick advantage.
Dal (5-0-7) finishes the regular-season with 22 points and moves on to next weekend's AUS Men's Soccer Championships hosts by UNB.
SMU (1-8-3) ends their season with six points.
