Acadia ties Dalhousie with a last minute goal

On Friday, October 2nd, Dalhousie tied Acadia 2-2 in their game at Raymond Field with 218 supporters in attendance. With 2 back to back goals by Mbolekwa, the Tigers almost came out with a win, until Acadia tied up the game with a last minute goal.

Acadia started the game early with a goal by first year Travis Fenning (Ottawa, ON) in the 6th minute of the game. The Axemen kept the lead for the remainder of the half. Both teams managed to get a few shots on net, and Dalhousie's Zach Mbolekwa (Whitby, ON) and Jack Schembri (Mahone Bay, NS) were both handed yellow cards. The Axemen finished up the half with a 1-0 lead over the Tigers.

Mbolekwa came into the second half with two back to back, unassisted goals within 10 minutes of each other. This brought the Tigers to a 2-1 lead over the Axemen. Later that half, both Zach Mbolekwa (Dalhousie) and Sean Langille-Broder (Acadia) were given yellow cards. And finally, with just 12 minutes left in the game, Acadia tied up the score with a second goal for the team from Cochrane Noseworthy-Smith (Wolfville, NS).

The game came to a close with a 2-2 tie for the Tigers and the Axemen. Dalhousie played again on Saturday and came away with a 2-0 win against UPEI. Acadia lost 3-0 to StFX on Sunday. Both teams will have their next games on October 16th. Dalhousie (4-2-2) will be playing Saint Mary's (1-4-3), and Acadia (3-1-3) will be playing Mount Allison (1-6-1).
