Tigers finish season with a 3-1 win against the Sea-Hawks

The Tigers finished the season on a high note with a 3-1 victory over the Memorial Sea-Hawks on Sunday at Wickwire Field. After being eliminated from playoff contention the day before, the Tigers came out and played a strong game to cap the season off.

William Wright wasted no time getting on the score sheet, beating keeper Taylor Smith in the 5th minute. Graduating senior and captain, Tyler Lewars scored in his final game for the Tigers on a penalty kick in the 19th minute.

Aaron Anstey stopped the bleeding for the Sea-Hawks when he tapped in a beautiful cross from Terrnce O'Rourke in 25th minute. The Tigers headed into the dressing room holding a 2-1 lead.

Tigers senior, Ryan Lewars was handed a red card in the 59th minute, ending his AUS soccer career.  After an intentional hand ball in the box Jacob Westcott was also handed a red card in 82nd minute. Bezick Evraire would capitalize on the ensuing penalty kick, extending the Tigers lead to 3-1.

Seniors, Ryan Lewars, Tyler Lewars and Jason Ross will be missed next season as they played their final game for the Tigers on Sunday.

Memorial(4-8-1) hosts the men's soccer AUS championship next weekend and will play StFX (7-3-3) in the quarter-finals. The Tigers (4-5-4) finished one spot out of playoff contention.
