(HALIFAX, NS) The Huskies beat the Tigers 2-1 under the lights on Wednesday night. Saint Mary's tied up the season series on the road at Wickwire Field.
Ashwin Phatak (Pune, India) scored the only first half goal in the 13th minute giving the Huskies the early lead.
The two rivals played a fast paced and physical second half with plenty of chances for both sides. Bezick Evraire (Ottawa, ON) tied the game at 1-1 with his 6th goal of the season on a penalty kick in the 78th minute.
The comeback was short lived for the Tigers as Thierno Diop (Dakar, Senagal) scored shortly after in the 83rd minute. The Huskies held on to the lead winning 2-1.
Dalhousie (2-2-2) is hosting Cape Breton (2-2-1) this Saturday, September 27th at 3:15 pm.
Saint Mary's (2-3-2) hits the field next at home against Acadia (3-3-0) on Sunday, September 28th.
