Men's Soccer Recap

Evenly matched, crosstown rivals Dalhousie (3-3-1) and Saint Mary's (4-2-1) had the same record going into tonight's game.  The game was scoreless until the 45 minute mark when Husky Kyle Denbrook tipped in the ball just over the head of Tigers' goalie, Jason Ross, forcing the Tigers to attempt a comeback in the second half.

In the second half, Dal striker William Kafeero's shot saw the back of the net but the Tigers' celebrations were cut short when the referee called the goal offside.  The high-intensity game was constantly back and forth, with Husky goalie, Adam Miller, making multiple impressive saves and not giving up any chances to Dal.

The game got progressively more aggressive with SMU receiving two yellow cards and four fouls and Dal receiving three yellow cards and seven fouls.  With less than ten minutes left, the Tigers' Sangmuk Choi had to be escorted from the field due to injury.  The Tigers got serious in the final minutes of play, pulling their goalie into the box for multiple corner kicks but unfortunately it wasn't enough and Dal came up short, losing 0-1.

The Tigers play their next game this Saturday at UPEI at 4:15 pm.
