The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus answered the call well, but at a cost. Subway player of the game goaltender Étienne Montpetit turned away 27 shots to lead his team to a 3-0 shutout over the Dalhousie University Tigers at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena on the Moncton campus in Atlantic University Sport men's hockey in front of nearly 700 spectators Sunday.

This victory forces the holding of the third and decisive game of the quarter-final series best of 3, which is now tied 1-1, the Tigers having won the first duel in Halifax. The game will be played Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. at the Halifax Forum.

The fast and very physical game gave interesting play for the spectators who applauded the players at the end of the game and to goalkeeper Montpetit following a key stop with the mitt at the last second in the third.

The two goalies, Montpetit (27-9-9-9 saves) and Reilly Pickard (30-10-10-10 saves) had their moments of glory. Following a goaless first period, it was Maxime Boudreau (Francis Thibeault, Rémy Anglehart) who took advantage of power play to deflect the puck into the net through many legs for the winning goal at 1:05. Of the middle period. Olivier Desjardins (Samuel Guilbault, Vincent Lanoue) at 15:24 of the third took the pressure off with his team's second on a hard shot from the face-off circle. Edouard St-Laurent (unassisted) had the insurance one at 17:32 while the Tigers had a 6th skater instead of a goalie. He took a long shot from his zone that rolled into the net to the delight of the crowd who saw the Tigers attack in the blue and gold zone.

In the other series, the Saint Mary's University Huskies (5th) signed their card for the semifinals with a 3-1 win over the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers (4th) in Halifax on Sunday night.
