(Halifax, N.S) -The Dalhousie Tigers hosted the UPEI Panthers at the Halifax Forum for a 4-1 win on Saturday night.

The first period was a fast-paced battle, as both teams fired shots off but couldn't find the back of the net. With one minute to go in the first, first-year player Chandler Yakimowicz (Kingston, ON) potted Dal's first goal off a pass from defencemen Zachary Taylor (Dartmouth, NS). Six seconds later, Yakimowicz and Mike Evelyn (Ottawa, ON) played off each other with a final pass to Colton Heffley (Swift Current, SK) who scored Dal's second goal of the night. Heffley is leading the Tigers in points, with 11 in his 17 games played.

The second period featured a goal by first year player Reid Murphy (Stittsville, ON), and the Tigers headed into the third with a 3-0 lead.

The first goal in the third was shot over the blocker from the slot on a Panthers power-play, scored by rookie Marcus Power (St. John's, NF). Power has 18 points in his 21 games played this season. Although few penalties were called in in the third, the rivalry between the Panthers and the Tigers was obvious, and the play became more and more physical. With 46 seconds remaining in the game, Andrew Shewfelt (Dartmouth, NS) scored on an empty net to end the game with a 4-1 win for the Tigers.

Heffley, who scored the second goal for the Tigers, was named the Subway Player of the Game.

The Tigers are back in action on Wednesday at StFX and the Panthers will take on Acadia next Friday.
